Your Role:

Due to an internal promotion, we’re seeking an experienced Feedlot Manager to lead operations at Bottle Tree. You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the feedlot. Leading a large, diverse team, you’ll drive livestock performance, animal welfare, safety, and operational efficiency, while ensuring best practice standards across all areas of the operation. This is a hands-on leadership role where your commercial nous, people leadership, and operational expertise will be key to success.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and manage all feedlot operations, including feeding, animal health, induction, dispatch, and pen maintenance
• Oversee livestock performance, ensuring optimal weight gain, feed efficiency, and animal welfare outcomes
• Manage and develop a high-performing team, including supervisors, operators, and livestock staff
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all WHS and animal welfare standards
• Monitor and manage feed budgets, inventory, and cost control to maximise operational efficiency
• Work closely with nutritionists, veterinarians, and internal stakeholders to optimise feeding programs and health outcomes
• Oversee maintenance of infrastructure, plant, and equipment
• Ensure accurate data capture, reporting, and continuous improvement across the operation
• Prepare for and manage audits, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards

Who We’re Looking For:

• Prior knowledge in a feedlot management or senior supervisory role within a large-scale feedlot
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing teams
• Commercial nous with a focus on performance, efficiency, and cost control
• Solid understanding of livestock production, animal health, and nutrition principles
• Experience managing budgets, reporting, and operational planning
• Strong commitment to safety, animal welfare, and compliance
• Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
