Your Role
As a Feed Allocator/Machinery Operator you will be responsible for the preparation, allocation, and delivery of livestock feed rations, along with operating and maintaining feed mill and feeding equipment. This hands-on role is critical to the daily efficiency of the feedlot, animal welfare outcomes, and feed quality. You’ll work as part of a high-performing feedlot team in a practical, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prepare, allocate, and deliver high-quality cattle feed rations across feedlot and paddock feed bunks
- Use feed allocation software (such as FeedBunk) to ensure accurate and efficient feeding programs
- Monitor bunk conditions daily and make informed decisions to optimise feed intake and cattle performance
- Safely operate feed trucks, loaders, mills, and other associated machinery
- Complete daily pre-start checks, inspections, refuelling, and equipment calibration to maintain safe operations
- Maintain feed mill equipment, machinery, and work areas to a high standard of cleanliness and functionality
- Accurately record daily feeding and allocation information using both electronic and manual systems.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Experience operating machinery or willingness to be trained
- Ability to work safely with heavy machinery and equipment
- Basic computer skills and confidence using feeding and record-keeping systems
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Sound understanding of animal welfare standards
- Open driver’s licence
- Reliable team player who thrives in a hands-on, operational environment
